One of the coolest parts of
model railroading is controlling turnouts with a remote switch or control lever, allowing your trains to smoothly navigate from one point to another. To make this happen, you’ll need to install switch machines—either electromechanical or manual. In this video, I’ll show you how I install manual Blue Point Switch Machines under Peco Electrofrog turnouts, so I can easily set routes from the front of the layout.
Speaking of switch machines, you might be interested in learning more about the mechanics behind these devices by checking out the Wikipedia article on electromechanical switches.
