I have got this old covered hopper that’s been running on my layout for years. Nothing fancy about it—paint’s chipped, a couple of the decals are peeling—but it’s always in the consist no matter what I’m running. I don’t even think about it anymore, it’s just… part of the railroad.

Anybody else have a car like that? The one that’s always out there, even if it doesn’t really match the rest of the train?
