Been messing around with an old loco lately. Was supposed to be a “quick tweak” but you know how it goes—one change turns into five. Ended up cutting part of the body, swapping trucks, and painting it in this oddball livery that only exists in my head.
Half the fun’s just figuring it out as you go. I’ve used everything from a beat-up X-Acto to a soldering iron that smells like it’s burning something it shouldn’t. Tried adding grab irons from wire… bent the first set so bad they looked like spaghetti. Second attempt turned out alright.
Curious what other folks are working on. Anybody here ever go totally off the rails (pun intended) with a custom build? Would love to see pics or hear about your “that escalated quickly” moments.
