    One thing that saved my sanity: using terminal blocks with labeled wires and color coding EVERYTHING. Also, I started using heat shrink tubing and ferrules for cleaner, safer connections—total game-changer.

    As for decoders, I’ve had solid luck with ESU LokSound especially for sound installs. Their programming can be a bit intense at first, but once you get the hang of it, the customization is next level.

    Biggest mystery I ever had? A loco that only worked when the room light was off. Turned out to be a grounding issue that somehow fed back through the DCC booster… still not sure I fully understand it, but a new booster and proper grounding fixed it.
