I have been messing around with my camera lately trying to get that perfect shot of a freight train curving through my layout… but it’s way harder than I thought. Half the time the lighting’s off, or the focus locks on the wrong thing, and I end up with a blurry coupler instead of the whole scene.
So I figured why not make a spot where we can share our favorite model train photos and spill a bit on how we got them?
📷 What camera or phone did you use? Did you set up special lights, or just go with daylight?
🃏 Any tricks for making the trains look “full size” in the shot?
Could be action shots, night scenes, close-ups of details—whatever you’re proud of. Doesn’t have to be perfect either… sometimes the “almost” shots tell the best story.
