-
Let’s kick off a creative group project with a twist: instead of just connecting modules, we build individual scenes that tell a shared story. It could be a specific era, a fictional railroad, or a day in the life of a bustling rail town.
Each member picks a chapter of the story and designs a layout segment to match freight yard hustle, sleepy countryside, stormy mountain pass you name it.

Suggest a theme or claim your piece of the story. Let’s create a layout that flows not just with trains, but with imagination!I love the concept of storytelling through connected layout scenes. It gives so much room for personal creativity while still being part of a bigger picture.
I’d love to take on the stormy mountain pass segment thinking rocky cliffs, weathered trestles, maybe even a stalled freight battling the grade in the rain. Could add some dramatic lighting and sound to bring the atmosphere alive.
A couple of theme ideas:
1940s Wartime Railway troop transports, blackouts, and factory runs.
The Lost Line a fictional railroad slowly being overtaken by nature and time.
Railtown Chronicles one day in a busy town told from different perspectives: industry, passenger station, residential area.
